Designed by Irina Chikati, our Molten Muse, Neo Mint wallpaper layers fluid, liquid-like colour distortions beneath sharp geometric shapes. Fluid ripples of cool mint, teal, and hazy blue blend with warm, earthy taupe grey and sandy tones, overlaid with clean circles, vertical pillars, and solid graphic blocks. The interplay between rigid Postmodern forms and shifting digital waves gives this mural wallpaper a distinctive retro-futuristic character. Made-to-measure for your wall dimensions, this PVC-free wallpaper is straightforward to hang and printed on paper featuring a subtle physical surface structure.
About the design
In this design, we brought together two contrasting visual worlds: the fluid, unpredictable motion of distorted colour gradients and the disciplined geometry of 1980s Postmodernism. Fluid ribbons of mint green, soft cyan, and muted blues ripple vertically across the backdrop, shifting into warm earthy undertones and charcoal shadows. Over this fluid surface, Irina Chikati introduces solid and translucent geometric overlays, including large circular disks, slender ovals, horizontal lintels, and rectangular pillars in taupe and grey tones.
What we particularly like about our wallpaper is how these contrasting layers balance each other. The soft, rippling distortion creates depth, while the clean geometric outlines restore structure and graphic clarity. At a distance, the composition reads as a bold abstract mural with defined zones and architectural balance. Up close, the subtle pixel textures and soft transitions between mint and earthy taupe reveal a layered, multifaceted visual character.
In the room
Because the composition features large geometric elements and sweeping vertical motion, we see this working particularly well across a wider, uninterrupted wall. In a living room or a dedicated dining room, giving the wallpaper a clear wall behind low furniture allows the full rhythm of circles and overlapping planes to be seen without interruption.
We also like this design for a contemporary bedroom or a creative home office. In a bedroom, placing the design on the wall behind the headboard grounds the room with architectural structure while the cooler mint and muted grey tones maintain a balanced atmosphere. For a hallway or staircase, the verticality of the geometric pillars complements the height of the space, turning transitional areas into engaging visual statements.
Styling it
When styling around our design, we recommend letting the wallpaper serve as the central visual focus while keeping surrounding elements grounded. Furniture with clean, contemporary lines or subtle 1980s Memphis-inspired silhouettes pairs naturally with the geometric themes of the artwork.
To balance the cool mint and digital undertones, we would combine this design with warm wood finishes, such as smoked ash or warm oak, or matte-lacquered furniture in slate grey or sand. Upholstered seating in neutral woven textiles prevents the room from feeling overly busy. For accents, consider smoked glass, brushed dark metal, or simple ceramic forms that echo the circular shapes found in the pattern.
Colour combinations
Our wallpaper centres on a dynamic dialogue between cool, luminous tones and grounded, earthy neutrals. The design features neo mint, teal, and hazy slate blue alongside warm taupe grey, muted beige, and dark charcoal.
To build a cohesive palette around this wallpaper, we suggest pairing adjacent painted walls with soft taupe, warm greige, or an off-white with subtle grey undertones. If you prefer a richer, more graphic contrast, deep charcoal or slate grey trims can frame the wallpaper beautifully. For soft furnishings and decor, accents of muted sage or warm sandy beige help pick up the underlying tones of the artwork without competing with its vibrant central shapes.
