About the design
In this design, we wanted to explore how soft, abstracted forms and layered brush marks can give a wall visual depth without feeling heavy. Irina Chikati combines large, pebble-like contours and vertical colour blocks with lighter sweeps and daubs of chalk white that appear to float over the muted ground. The visible brush texture in each tone gives the artwork an oil-painted look, while the gentle contrast between warm taupe, soft beige, and dusky cocoa keeps the overall movement fluid and grounded.
When viewed across an entire wall, the larger abstract elements establish a steady foundation, while the smaller contrasting marks guide the eye naturally across the surface.
